OCT co-Founder Julie Garnier elected Femme en Or pour l'Environnement 2016

Odyssey Conservation Trust's co-founder Dr Julie Garnier has been elected Femme en Or for the Environment 2016 for all her career in conservation. The holistic and gender-sensitive approach to conservation that she has developed, also called "One Health through Women" is now recognized for its high impact and sustainability.

Model created by OCT founders considered as most successful community-managed protected area in East Africa

IUCN declared that the Vamizi community-managed protected area set up by Odyssey Conservation Trust founders, Dr J.Garnier and C.Cox together with all their scientific partners, was one of the most successful in East Africa.The basis for such success was to re-impower the local community to manage its marine resources and a holistic approach integrating development objectives with conservation.
